I was driving one day, and the car suddenly shut down. It will crank but no start. I changed the fuel pump the filter and the screen checked all my fuses relays check with all the power getting to the pump everything is working great and still no start. Could it be some kind of anti-theft system or the remote start? I found under the dashboard which is disconnected now any suggestions on what to do with my driver the key lock cylinder needs to be replaced due to my friend being locked out of my car, would that trigger the Anti-Theft? Please help me with any suggestions or what to do would be very appreciated I've been down without a vehicle for almost 3 weeks.

Hello,

This could be due to a faulty crank position sensor.
The crank sensor sends the engine revolution signal to the ECM. Over time with heat and vibration from the engine the sensor can lose its calibration and send error code to the ECM. That can trigger an engine to shut down.

Is your check engine light illuminated?
If it is, then scanning and retrieving the code(s) can help with the diagnostics.

I have attached diagrams for the crank sensor location as well as testing procedure below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Okay, thank you. I will go out and check it here in a few when my dad gets home and also there is no power going to the fuel pump. I change the relays uses Excedrin the only thing that I can think of is if it has to do with the anti-theft system NATS. If there is one in this vehicle, I have the 1998 luxury SUV QX4 I do believe that there is one in there, how would I tell for sure and if so, will I have to have another key made from the locksmith?

So is the anti theft light on?
If the anti theft is triggered the engine will not do anything. Usually it will cut power and it will not crank over.

If it goes off after you turn the key to the on position, then it is not triggered. Also, with anti-theft the engine should not crank. Check the crank sensor as I mentioned above. You can use a multimeter to test it.

First try to jump the pump by connecting 12V power. This will tell you if the pump is operating correctly.

It is possible to have a short in the fuel pump wiring. So, checking for power at the fuel pump connector is a good idea.

I have attached the fuel pump circuit testing procedure below.

Okay, this was the last resort for me and my dad after we checked the wiring to the pump which has power but still not turning on. He ran a wire straight from the battery and split into the wires for the fuel pump and it came right on. So, something is blocking my fuel pump from coming on even though it's getting power to it. So, what my dad is going to do is run a direct wire from the fuse box that will function the fuel pump only when the key is turned to the on position and turns it off when you turn the car off. Other than that, we really don't know what to do.

Have you tried to reset the anti-theft module?

Take a look at this guide, it covers the typical procedure for doing so:
