SRS Airbag tag replacement?

I recently noticed the old airbag tag on my driver's door had become dislodged from the door panel. Inspection of the tag shows the pointed arrow projection is broken off. I was able to purchase a replacement tag (see attached pics). However, I don't really understand why the tag on my passenger door fits so tightly against the door panel when the pics I have supplied here only indicate a hole in the fabric that the pointed piece goes through, but it doesn't appear to me that this alone would make it fit tight enough on the door panel. Behind this flap, I only see a Torx screw head, as evidenced by the pics. Is there something else this arrow tip connects to inside the door? Am I missing something here, in regards to installing this new piece (Part# A1708170020)? This piece is also used on Mercedes-Benz SLK-230 & SLK-320. Thanks so much!
