Brakes squeak while driving

Squeaking noise from front brake area while driving. When I press brakes it stops noise let off and squeaks again. I got tire off move it by hand and the squeak is coming from the back side pad.

Sounds like worn pads and the brake wear indicator is touching. I would also check to be sure the caliper pins are free as this sounds like the pad may be shifting as you step on the brake. If the pads are worn more at one end or one pad is worn while the other is good the pins are stuck.

Thanks for responding. I had a pad already shift on me before but did not sound like this. Pads are fairly new I think it may have come out of place again.

Sounds like you need new front pads. Here is a how-to guide: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-front-brake-pads-and-rotors-fwd - you probably do not need new rotors though, just the pads. If you want, you can take pictures of your pads and post them here and we will make a judgment on if they need changing. But I would bet on them needing to be changed.

Also, when you get the pads, get the gel that helps keep them quiet and apply it.

Then just get some of the gel/grease and put it on the contact areas between the pads and caliper, and if you have enough of the gel/grease left put it on the slide pins too. Also, make sure everything is tight, like the dust shield and caliper bolts/slide pins.
