Yes, lately I have noticed at random times, when I go to back my car out, it makes this weird high pitch squeal noise. It will do it when I am pressing the brakes backing up, but it will also do it if I am not even touching the brakes. It does not do it all the time, just every now and then. It is not my brake pads. Could I just need a lube job? I just got my oil changed not to long ago so I am still okay on that. Thank you!

Hi and thanks for using 2carpros. Com

There really isn't anything to lube on the car that would cause the noise. Components sucjh as wheel bearings are sealed and non serviceable. Start by making sure the backing plates behind the brake rotors are not bent or rusted and touching the rotor when the vehicle is moved.

You said it isn't the brakes. However, there are brake wear sensors on the pads which touch the rotor when the pads are nearly worn out. Even if you just replaced the brakes, the sensor could be bent and slightly touching. If the brakes haven't been replaced recently, make sure the inner pad which isn't visible unless the wheel is removed, hasn't worn much faster than the outer pad and causing the noise.

Let me know what you find.
