I have got this squealing sound that just started recently. It is only when I put the car I reverse and back up. It does not make this noise when going forward. I think it is a possible brake problem possibly? Not sure though.

Could very well be a brake squealer telling you it is time for some new pads or shoes. Does it change or stop if you step on the brake while backing up? Is it a constant sound or squeak-squeak-squeak? The on/off sound would suggest a failing U-joint.

It is a constant sound, it is quieter when idling in reverse but louder while moving in reverse.

You hear the noise at idle with the transmission in reverse but not actually moving?
If so it is an internal transmission problem. Anything external would stop making noise as soon as the car stops moving.
