Squealing noise is heard when backing up?

I notice that when I put the car in reverse and start backing up there is a fairly loud squeal coming from the rear of the car. I think it might happen when I apply the brakes as I am backing up. The brakes appear to work normally when going forward and stopping is decent although not a powerful grabbing of the brakes when I apply pressure to the brake pedal.

Yep, this happens when the brake pads get too low and the warning "screamer" starts to touch the rotor which makes this noise, here is how to change the rear pads out in case you want to do the job yourself and save some money.

Here is a video to show you how as well:

Check out the images (below). Please upload videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.

Thank you much for the analysis. I will have the work of fixing up those rear brakes done by my local repair shop. I believe the correct way to help your site is by the way of the gofundme button so I will try that route (you used to have a PayPal button).
