The engine sputters around 1,200-2,000 RPMs?

I already replaced the spark plugs and when I did the third one had the prong bent down. Can it be the camshaft sensor even though I am not getting a code from the computer?

Hi,

When you say the prong was bent down, are you referring to the electrode at the end of the spark plug? Also, was there any change after you replaced the plug?

As far as the camshaft sensor is concerned, it should set a code if there is an issue. On the other hand, the crankshaft position sensor may not. When it starts to sputter, pay attention to the tachometer to see how it reacts and let me know. Also, if you still have the damaged spark plug, take a picture and upload it for me to see.

Yes, it still does it, even after I replaced the plugs. The picture shows the order of them as well.

I’m also getting poor gas mileage as well.

Hi,

I attached a pic of what you sent below. Is that how the spark plug was when you removed it? If it was, you need to get a borescope and check in that cylinder for evidence of damage. The only way that could happen is if it was hit by something.

If compression is compromised in that cylinder, it will affect power, drivability, and fuel usage issues.
