Engine sputter?

Whenever I drive it, it has to be down in first gear, and I have to run the engine because it'll putter and then I have to shift it up. Then when I stop somewhere I have to go back down to first and run it up or else it'll stall, and I replaced the fuel filter already and I did the water pump and the alternator and the starter so far but now this is something new.

I would start with a full tune up, new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Here is a guide to help with instructions below to help with your car:
