When we got the car the person told us the engine slipped a little. It has gotten worse and then now it starts to sputter when I take off, I have to go slow. It is like it's clogged or something, like it feels like it is out of gas.

The first thing you should do is stop by an AutoZone or advance auto and ask them to retrieve the engine trouble codes from the computer. They usually do this for free. Then if they don't sell you a part and/or want to figure out what the code means and any troubleshooting, post them codes in here.
