Have to change rear end. One I bought goes under leaf but, one I removed goes on top. Having a problem cutting them off. Side grinder burned up.

Okay, you may have the wrong rear end. You may have the one for the heavier duty model.

the replacement needs to be placed in the same spot you removed the old one. if it does not mount correctly, then you have the wrong differential.

I have measured everything all the same except the way it mounts to springs.

that is what the difference is. that is why it is wrong.
if you mount it under the springs the truck will be very high in height, that is if you can correctly mount it and center it.
