Engine spits, sputters, and shuts off

just had a new fuel pump put on and it spits, sputters, and then shuts off, but will crank back up.

Just to confirm, this issue started after the pump was replaced.

If this is the case, then we need to check the pressure when this is happening.

I suspect the replacement pump is faulty. However, we need to start with checking the pressure to confirm this.
