Hi,
This could be caused by a couple of things. First, there is an output speed sensor on the transmission that could be failing or even have a faulty connector. Inspect the wiring and connector. Physically disconnect it and inspect it for damage, connector pin damage or excessive corrosion or dirt. See pic below for the location.
Next, the instrument cluster, also referred to as a cabin control node (CCN), is mounted inside the instrument cluster and can be failing. It is responsible for filtering incoming information from the body control module to prevent things as you indicated.
The best thing to do in this case is to have the can-bus system scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module involved.

I suspect if you would have that done, it will help point us in the right direction and prevent the wrong parts from being replaced. In this case, my educated guess is the cluster itself is failing. However, I've been wrong before and don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.
