speedometer sensor on transmission?

2006 FORD EXPEDITION
100,000 MILES • 0.5L • V8 • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

The transmission went out on it I went to the junkyard got another one the transmission speedometer sensor is not on the transmission that I bought will it still start and run without the sensor?

Sure it will start and run but it will not shift the transmission and you will have a check engine light on. Is there no place for the sensor? Every transmission should have one. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response
