Speedometer needle bouncing erratically until transmission slipping out of gear?

2003 CADILLAC DEVILLE

Jumping speedometer at random speeds. Any decrease in gas or even while in cruise control if there was a small incline and a slight decrease in speed transmission would slip out of gear. Would re-engage if revved.

I would check the transmission fluid and then run the codes to see what comes up.
