I changed my exhaust about a month ago and a few weeks later my speedometer started to bounce. Last week I was driving and couldn't get it to shift out of first gear and the speedometer was at zero. I took it to the shop and they said the cabling and speedometer were fine...they replaced a missing grommet.

We took it back and it worked normally when the car was cold, but once we went 5 or 6 miles the same problem occurred. I'm not really sure what the problem could be. Could the catalytic converter somehow cause this problem? Could it be a gas line issue? Or will the band in the transmission need replaced. It's a solid runner otherwise and I'm hoping it's an easy fix.

Help!
