Where is the speedometer cable located on the car listed above, SR5 1.6 RWD? Everything in the dash works except the speedometer.
The temperature gauge works; however, it fluctuates. I don't believe it's the thermostat. Upon looking at it a noticed the ground wire was loose and it wiggles. I was wondering if that would be the cause of the temperature gauge fluctuating from normal operation to completely not working. Thanks

Hi,

It has been a while since I've worked on one of these. However, the cable should go from the rear of the instrument cluster, through the firewall, and to the transmission. If I recall correctly, it connects at the tail housing on the transmission on the driver's side.

I tried to find pics to help, but I was only able to find one that isn't a great help.

Let me know if you find it. And, if you have a loose ground, absolutely that can cause electrical issues as you mentioned.

Take care,

joe
