Speedometer and odometer not working

Speedometer and odometer not working even after replacing VSS (output speed sensor). OBD says P0501. have tried "calibrating" the gauges by holding down trip reset and they all move and stuff.

It could be a few things. What I have done is attach, in picture form, the test procedure from Prodemand for your review. If I would have to make an educated guess, I feel there is a broken wire near where the connection is made on the transaxle. Also, the output speed sensors are known to fail, but since you replaced it and it does the same thing, chances are it is something different.
