I need to replace a speed sensor and don't know the location of either input or output.

Is there a video or diagram that would give me a good idea of what I'm looking for. I am not a car guy so the more detail the better.

( odometer and speedometer not working)

It's on the top of the transmission, below the coils.

Is that the input or output?

My speedometer and odometer are not functioning and I believe one of these sensors is to blame.

Would it be possible for a better description for both in and out, as I'm not very mechanically inclined.

That is the vehicle speed sensor which is also called the output speed sensor. The input sensor has nothing to do with the speedometer.
