Vehicle listed above has a 4.7 v8. Told to change the transmission speed sensor. Where is it located and is there more than one to change? It's to fix shift and harsh jerking problem.

Hello,

There are two speed sensors for the transmission. One is the input, and the other is output speed sensor.
Both located on the side of the transmission (see diagram).

Are you getting a check engine light for this issue?

If so what code(s) are you getting?

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

The code came up p0871. But I assumed it might be the speed sensors because I have the same problems as when everyone says they are going bad. It does leak transmission fluid a little from someone not sealing it properly when changing my fluid but that was done 3 months ago, and check engine light just came on a week ago. Thanks for your help.

The code P0871 can get triggered for several different reasons. Including wiring issues, sensor, it can even be the PCM.

I have attached the trouble shooting guide for the code below, this can give you an idea what could be the reason.
