Just got back off a log trip and the check engine light was on the whole way returning. After getting home we went to hook up the ODB reader and when connecting it pushed a "red" wire to hit the metal side and a spark happened. The connector does not read anything now and the car dash will light up when trying to start, but just keeps clicking and will not turn over.
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting on this?

Check fuses, then try a security system reset you may have set it off doing that.

Thanks, found a blown fuse for the computer system. Now ABS and VBS lights will not go out, but at least it is running!

Then have it scanned by a mechanic as ABS may have a problem that is why VBS light is on.

It may be something simple, check fuses under hood as you may have blown that one otherwise get it scanned.
