sound of engine on open road

Seems to be shifting into 4th gear. But sounds pretty wound u p on open road. Is that normal for this year of diesel? Also, can we put a tachometer on this engine? Thanks

Diesel tacho testers are expensive, many diesel workshops will have one to test engine RPM with out hearing the problem its a bit hard to say, i would get a mechanic to do a road test with you to get a first hand opinion on this problem.
