Just purchased this SUV.
My concern is: When driving very slowly less than twenty miles per hour, I let off the accelerator very slowly, I can hear and feel a bump that is shifting to a lower gear. I press on the accelerator I can hear and feel a bump shifting back to its higher or previous gear.
Why is this?
With the cruse on and I am going sixty five to seventy miles per hour going down a very steep incline, it does the same thing (bump back and forth to maintain the same speed).
Why is this?
Thanks for your advance reply.

Thanks for your quick reply. It is very helpful to know there's noting to worry about. By the way, it is a 6 speed transmission.

I'm still NOT completely satisfied with my 6 speed trans:::::I took my Escalade back to the dealership on with the same concern> They say it's basically normal on all heavy AWD trucks. They checked all the codes and could not find anything out of the normal. I still don't understand why the bump? The explanation they gave me is some what normal...

Do you know if all AWD trucks have this same bumping in and out of gear at a low speed? To "me", this bumping should not be normal. GM would have tons of complaints....

it's the shifting of gears people with Chrysler products with their 8 speed have the same problem.

ok I've dug into this alittle more and it is a tech bulletin about unwanted grade braking, low power and trans busy shifting. the tsb is pit5206D you might go to dealer and see if they can check this out. I understand your concern but these newer cars are crazy. if you have some type of device stuck in aldl that is for insurance or one of those things take it out and throw it as far as you can because they screw up the pcm readings and cause all kind of screwy problems.
