Starter got crack with only one bolt, also car running hot

Somebody put starter on my car and only put one bolt in it. Will caused my starter to crack? Do i need both bolts in the starter?

yes you need two bolts maybe the person left it off or broke so you would not know until you looked to see if there is a hole there or if it is plugged. Auto parts should sell them. Also, pressure check for a blown head gasket if getting hot. Auto parts rent tool, see link.
