My check engine light is on, and it calls for solenoid a and b.
Is there another name for these solenoids I go on the AutoZone website and i type in solenoid a and that doesn't pop up.
Also, should I replace these solenoids or just replace the whole transmission? thanks

Hi,

Are you referring to the transmission line pressure regulating solenoids? I believe those were in the 4-speed automatics, but not the 3-speed transmissions.

Also, it may simply be referred to as the transmission solenoid which is responsible for line pressure and overdrive lock-up.

Do me a favor. What codes were found? That will point me in the right direction.

Let me know.
