Hi,
Is the smoke, steam from the coolant? Is the engine temperature showing it is overheating or are you just experiencing the symptoms you mentioned?
If it is only the symptoms, it could be related to a faulty head gasket. Take a look through this link:

Also, let me know if you notice white smoke from the exhaust.
