Had it running for about 15 minutes this morning and I noticed some smoke coming from the left (drivers) side of the engine. I also lose coolant from my reservoir overflow. I'm wondering if a bad water pump could be the cause. I know these engines are known for the gasket/bolt problems, but I'm trying to eliminate all other possibilities before diving into that one.

Hi,

If you are losing coolant, chances are it is a hose. Here is what I suggest. Open the hood and start the engine. See if you can tell approx where the smoke is coming from. Do that and let me know.

Here is a link that you may find helpful with the coolant leak:

If you can get a pic of where the smoke is coming from and upload it, it will help me.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
