My boyfriend changed the oil filter to my car and accidentally he spilled few drops of oil onto the sensor. Now my car is smoking after a block or two, car loses speed almost to shutting down and still oil is leaking. Oil light flashes and beeps still.
What can be the problem?

First, check your oil level!

Insure that the old oil filter's rubber gasket did not stay stuck to the engine. (Now you have two gaskets stacked together) You should have the new one only.

Is the filter screwed on correctly? Nothing like a wire or something got in-between?
