Smell gas, tank leaking

I got under the car I could see where gas has been leaking from the top of the tank, it has been leaking for a little while month or two. Could the pump be going out?

More than likely the fuel pump o-ring has failed, but a thorough inspection should be done by lowering the tank and having a good look. If the o-ring has failed, also inspect the locking ring after you have removed it. Just lay it on a flat surface and make sure it lays flat and is not warped, otherwise you'll need to replace it as well.
