EGR hose pipe burst, engine over heated (I hopefully pulled over soon enough as temperature gauge was fluctuating high and low due to an air lock). Replaced EGR hose. Since then the van has felt sluggish and slow as if not getting enough power, and also has a slight shudder when taking off in first gear if revs are not kept up. Not a huge difference in the power but as I drive the van every day I notice the small change and it does not seem to have that get up and go anymore which is more noticeable while climbing hills. Inspected EGR valve and that was fine, took to a garage to check head gasket and have other test done (which I am not 100% were) but all comes back okay. Is there something I am missing and also the garage or is this all in my own head?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If you drive the vehicle every day, chances are you will notice changes before anyone else will. Since the vehicle is running, but you feel there could be an issue with the head gasket (may or may not have been checked). Here are simple ways to check it yourself:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Cheers,
Joe
