slow to start and resets the clock once it does start

took daughter to school and had to drive in heavy rain drove thru some deep water and the car started dragging when it starts and will sometime not start at all unless it sits and cools off plz help and thanks

Could be a bad connection at the starter or the starer itself is going bad.
you'll need to have the starter removed and checked (for FREE) at autozone, advance auto ot o'rielly's.

Try this also: with the headlights on, try to start the engine (have a partner to look at the headlights while you start the engine). if the lights dim significantly, suspect a weak battery, or bad connection at battery or starter.
If the light go out, suspect a weak battery or high resistance in the starter (bad starter).
Autozone and the other places will also check your battery for free.
