The starter was replaced at 123,000 miles. Today the car ignition would not crank. I had the battery tested and it was fine. I have replaced the starter relay and while the car now starts, it cranks slower than normally. Any suggestions as to why it's slow to crank?

Hi,

When you say slow cranking, that is either a weak battery, faulty starter motor, or poor electrical connections. Are the battery terminals clean and tight, free of corrosion?

Also, check the negative cable between the battery and engine block for a good connection.

It may be helpful to take the vehicle to a parts store such as AutoZone where they can test the battery, alternator, and starter circuits to ensure they are working properly, They normally do it free of charge.

Let me know.

Joe
