Check engine light is on, but no code on reader.
Revs fine in park, shift to R or D and it is like the engine is sluggish, not enough power. Very slow acceleration but will get up to speed. But slow acceleration at any speed. I think the speedometer is high to when it speeds up. Thinking and hoping that maybe a sensor in the transmission went out. Any thoughts?

Sounds like it might be in a "limp mode." Take it to the local auto parts shop (Auto Zone, Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, Pep Boys, etc) and get those codes. Otherwise we would just be guessing.

Here is a decent description of what "limp mode" is: https://www.transmissionrepaircostguide.com/limp-mode/
