Is it possible for my transmission to slip due to low fuel?

It seems every time my low fuel light is on the transmission doesn't want to shift out of first but then does when revved up to about 5,000 RPMs. Yikes! Am I losing it?

Hi,

There is no correlation between the fuel level and the transmission function. Have you checked to make sure the fluid is full and clean? That is where I would recommend starting.

Here is a link that you may find helpful:

If that appears to be in good condition and full, I will need to know if the check engine light is on while the engine is running. If it is, we need to scan for diagnostic trouble codes to see if there are any stored that are related to the transmission.

Here is a link that explains how to scan all modules at one time (can-bus):

Let me know if you have already done these things. If so, what were the results?
