Corsa D 1.4L petrol auto, 2011, 28k miles

I first felt a slight engine "judder" when idling in traffic. I then noticed a slight wobble on the rev counter, it idles around 750, and the judder maybe causes a +/-50 wobble.

Opening the bonnet, on a separate occasion, this judder sounds like a "click" which causes the long thin pipe (not a mechanic) to judder. Video below.

Any thoughts?

Hi JSTIN,

This click sounds like the AC compressor kicking on and that will cause the RPM to drop just a touch like you are describing.

Have you tried to duplicate this with the AC off and watching the compressor clutch? If it still makes the click noise and the compressor is not turning then we can dig deeper. However, if it corresponds with the compressor then this is normal and you should not worry about it.

Just keep in mind, that even if you have the AC off, the compressor could still cycle if it senses there is too much humidity in the vehicle and it will attempt to reduce that by turn on the compressor for a short time.

Let me know and we can go from there.

Thanks
