Hi, I just had the transmission replaced recently after it went out on me and when I got it back from the shop, I’ve been hearing a slight hum that comes and goes when I apply the brake or decelerate. I’m just wondering what could be causing that noise since the transmission has been recently replaced?

Was the noise there as soon as you got the van back? If so, the transmission is defective, can you upload a short video from your phone of the noise? That way I can tell for sure. There is a chance the wheel bearing hub has gone out; can you tell me which side of the van the noise is coming from?

I started hearing it when I first had to start braking to slow down so I was not sure which side it was coming from. What I feel like is happening is it’s having a hard time powering down or slowing down since the slight hum is happening in between the deceleration and acceleration. I’m going for a test drive with the shop that put the transmission in tomorrow. I just wanted to know the possible options before I did the test drive tomorrow.

Okay, I am here for you if you need to help confirm the repair or if you feel something is not right with what they are telling you.
