2005 Skoda Octavia Airbags

I am planning to buy a used Skoda octavia, the problem is that the airbags of the car have opened from left & from the steering (Right Hand Drive), but their is no marks of any accident on the car, can the airbags open without any accident & would it have any impact on cars performance if i buy this car. What is athe approx cost of getting the airbags repaired??

SRS systems are fairly fail safe, about the only way to deploy an air bag with out being in an accident is to have a system short in the wiring that may trigger a deployment, the performance will not be affected, if you do a system scan on the ECU you may get a code for a problem that may explain why the bags deployed, does the previous owner know what happened? as for cost, we have no information on this car in our data base, you best option is to contact your local dealer for this information.
