How big a repair is this and how expensive. The light just come on today and I had to drive home with it. Dont want to use the car if it will make it worse, would rather get it repaired as soon as possible

If you're refering this as the CEL. you need to get the computer scanned for code/s this is your starting point finding out what's happening. Autozone will do this free for you.
