Recently I had a service advisor at my local dealer say that it is okay to skip the suggested 7500 mile service on my car. I have about 8700 miles on it. He said just do the oil change and forget the rest. Any opinions?

Do you really love your vehicle?

Like 1/50th of the amount that I love my two?

What does the book/ owner's/ service manual say?

I kinda figure the feller that wrote these books may have been somehow closely tied in with the engineers who designed the vehicle.

Fred, down at the stealership, most likely was not at the factory to catch all of that info!

Don't get me wrong, when I got my present two back in 1991), I had to "Catch Up" on the Scheduled Maintenance that others in the past had neglected.

I've always had a Jeep (and only a Jeep) since I was first allowed on the asphalt in '81, My 1st five sustained a good bit of hell damage, mostly attributed to "having fun" in younger years! These last two have been kept up "MEGA CORRECTLY" (all of 'em have been my daily drivers).

So in the pics below, you are viewing 40 and 70 years of still on road nearly every day,

Keep 'em up correctly and they may last forever! A aftermarket repair manual will serve you well.

Thanks for the great pictures. It looks like you have some nice babies! I do really LOVE my car even though it is not expensive or classic. I get the point you made. Thank you for giving it to me straight. Good advice :)

I try to get a little personal with my thoughts!

I do go overboard w/ my maintenance, before it's time, I change my coolant and thermostat once a year, need it or not, etc, etc.

A repair manual will tell you when (time) or the mileage that stuff should be done in the scheduled maintenance section!

Some people don't like it when you tell 'em stuff like this: (especially when they have just trashed their engine, 'cause they don't regularly do their "own" checks

Here's a good one from a while back!

Sure you don't wanna acquire a Jeep?
