Door was a pain to open and close and found the power door chain and motor beyond repair. Removed the gear as suggested and door opens and closes real easy and it still locked until a person slammed the sliding door. Now have to manually lock it. Frustrating to say the least!

First thing I would check is the fuse or fuses that govern the locking motor. Check your manual for the fuse number and location. But since it is only effecting one door I am thinking it is the lock its self in that door.
