Trying to help buddy. Vehicle shut off when moving around driveway. Nothing when try to restart. No power to gauges or trouble lights. Fuel pump not getting power. Only thing that works is lights. Key was hot enough to burn when pulled out so we figured something went in the ignition switch. We changed it but no change. Still nothing. Is there a relay or something that might be bad? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the starter motor relay has shorted out. I would remove it and look for burn marks. Here also is the power distribution wiring diagrams so you can see how the power is laid out through the ignition switch:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please run this test and get back to us.

Cheers, Ken

I am going to look at it tomorrow. Would the starter relay cut power to the dash gauges and trouble lights as well?

Not really, it could be effected but it sounds more like you have a power supply issue. See if both red wires going into the switch are working. Here is a guide and the wiring diagrams so you can see how it works. Also, check the power outputs as well.
