When I push the gas pedal while coasting it rattles and it affects my acceleration. And when getting on freeway and shifting from 3 to 4 gear it jerks hard almost like its losing power and I've replaced a lot of stuff including tranny rebuild and I can't figure it out. I'm thinking it's shift solenoids and they didn't replace them like they said they did.

Hi,

Does the rattling sound seem to come from under the vehicle? Also, when it's heard, is that when you experience power loss? If that is the case, take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust system to see if you can recreate the sound. You could have a catalytic converter that has come apart internally blocking the exhaust.

Take a look at this link:

Next, if that isn't the case, then we need to scan the can-bus to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in any of the different modules.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the different modules and computers are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let me know if that is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

Joe
