Should I replace the battery

I have an older battery in my C-class (over 5 years), so I decided to have it tested at the close by Advance Auto.
They used the machine which prints out results, and the battery was showing 12.25V with 543CCA (battery is AGM with 800CCA). All this at temperature of 47F outside.
The car starts with no issues, and I have a jumper box in my car. But should I still go ahead and replace the battery, as it does say good on the piece of paper, but the sales person at Advance is still telling me I should replace the battery.

It depends on where you live and how cold it gets there. CCA is short for Cold Cranking Amps. CCA is determined as the amount of the number of amps the battery[12V] can deliver for 30 seconds while maintaining at least 7.2 Volts in 0 degree Fahrenheit weather. A battery tester like the one used on your vehicle is pretty reliable, as it places a load on the battery while it tests it. Also, when batteries fail, it is usually when the temperatures outside change. So they are more prone to fail at the start of summer or the start of winter, not in the middle of the season. I would say that your battery is okay, but the decision is yours and yours alone. I hope that this helps.

I agree! If your battery is reading good now, more than likely it will fail when the next season comes. We get lots of cars come in to my shop when the weather changes!
