Hi there, the car listed above has a 3.0 DOHC, I just finished a repair replacing all of the A/C lines. Which means I had to remove the coolant bottle and thermostat, the sensors and wires associated with that. Unplugging the radiator fan, A/C compressor, high pressure cycle switch, oil pressure switch, coolant level sensor, low pressure cycle switch, etc. While pulling a vacuum I let the car run to bleed the cooling system, and after about 45 minutes I noticed the car running badly and the windows did not operate correctly. The tachometer did not work, only the engine temperature and gas gauge seemed to work, and the airbag light was flashing and sometimes the theft light. Measuring battery voltage while the car was running, I got around 8 volts. With the battery unhooked I got around 12 volts. If I leave my jump pack on the battery the car runs normal and the tachometer works again. But I'm suspicious that the battery didn't just decide to die right now because of this repair. However, I did forget to unhook the battery before the repair. Any thoughts on this? Also, no battery light comes on.

Yep, it sounds like the battery went bad which happens. but to be sure this guide can help confirm the failure. Also check all ground wires and the wiring at the back of the alternator to make sure everything is plugged back in.

Well, I charged the battery, and it started right up, I left multimeter hooked up and can see when the car is off the battery is around 12 volts or more. When the key is in the ON position the battery goes to 8 volts. When the car started, I watched the multimeter go back to 12 volts and go down to 6 volts over 15 minutes, and finally turning off the car.

The car shuts off, but with the key off the battery voltage will return to 12 volts but it won't start the car the next time, I'll have to use the battery charger again. When charged, it passes your load test when starting with the headlights on. I tried pushing down on various points on the wire harnesses, but it just seems funny how it can charge up and start up fine but die so quickly. Everything is plugged in.

Hey guys, found the problem. It was the mega fuse. The 12v battery voltage stopped between the battery positive and the alternator positive at the fuse. Testing voltage at the alternator returned 3v. Bad fuse returned infinite ohms, with the new fuse I now have 13.8 - 14.10 volts at the battery while running.
