Price of shock absorbers

Why the huge difference in cost to replace two rear shock absorbers? The dealership quoted me $1,400.00 for two shocks. Wow! Others were $300.00 to $600.00.

Good afternoon.

You are being charged for original OEM parts and a much higher labor rate. That's the way dealers work.

I would use an independent repair shop for this repair.
