P0980 Shift Solenoid Code and No Reverse?

the solenoid resistance readings they gave sound believable, so I’d lean toward a circuit, connection or TCM side issue before calling the solenoid bad. A P0980 code is an electrical circuit fault for Shift Solenoid C. I would test the solenoid C for 16 ohms, (about) Also, when you remove it check for metal shavings which can clog the solenoid port. Also, I would remove the PCM connector and transmission electrical connector for corrosion, this is common. The no reverse symptom may be because the transmission is in limp mode. First, clear codes, then retest the gear. Please let me know what happens.

I did clear codes but they won’t go, meaning indeed is an open circuit. Does this have a separate transmission module or is integrated in the PCM? If separate may I have the location

Yes, the transmission is controlled by the PCM, the problem can be the transmission mode switch, when you put the car in reverse does the revers slights come on? Here are the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and which wires to test. Let me know what you find. Also, check the PCM electrical connector for corrosion. Check out the images (below). Let me know what you find.

What i experienced, at first the p light shows red while the D keeps blinking, when i shift to R N D S, I could see it shifting even on live data as well on dash. After disconnecting the PCM with the negative battery disconnected, I did not see any corrosion. When I fitted every connector, the P light no longer appears and when I shift gear, I get no signal R N S won’t show anymore.

Okay, I would clear the codes, then start the engine and drive the car (if possible) and then run the codes again. Let me know which codes come up, you may have a bad PCM.

The codes can’t be cleared, it remains even after clearing. They are 4 big solenoids and 3 small solenoids, I got 5.9 ohms resistance on the big solenoids, and on the small solenoids I got 16.9 ohms of resistance.

Please are these readings within specifications? Also I got the wirings but no signals values I should expect in test process. Thanks for diagram.

Sometimes it is best to just replace the part, under load they will fail.

My point is the power feed has zero volts with ignition on. And it’s likely shorted to chassis.

So how do I got replacing part which receives zero signals.

This is why I requested pin out for these solenoids.

Thank you very much for you support. The problem was a broken ground wire at harness connector of Shft Solenoid C, after repairing wire problem was fixed.
