Backing out of a parking spot I turn my rotary dial into Drive. I give it gas and the car does not move. I let go of the brake and the gears act as a neutral and I slowly roll backwards because of the incline. No overheating issues. The car then says "transmission not in park" when I have turned the dial into drive perfectly. I reset the ECU and checked the Rotary dial by a mechanic, and everything is fine. I have looked up plenty of videos but none have given me answers. Hope you can help.

Just to clarify, you reset the ECM and checked the dial and it is working now?

More then likely this is a control module issue or shifting/dial issue. These are electronic shifters so it sounds like this would be where the issue is.

However, we need to check codes and go from there. I highly suspect we will have some codes that will tell us what is happening.

However, if the vehicle is operating now then we may have to wait for it to start acting up again, if it does.

Let us know and we can go from there. Thanks
