Shifting problem from first to second gear

My van builds up rpm's in first. Gear some times it will not shift to second. For a second or two. What could it be?

Good morning.

The throttle position sensor on the throttle body is what controls shifting of the transmission. When it fails, it usually sets a code.

Do you have any codes set in the system?

When was the last time the fluid and filter has been changed?
