Truck will not go into gear. When the vehicle is off it goes into gear but does not start. I have replaced the clutch, flex plate, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. To include the clutch slave and master cylinder. This was supposed to be a closed system which I still bled.

Hi,

I'm not sure how you bled it. It is a sealed system. When you installed the slave and attached the hydraulic line, did you remove it at any time after installation? Once the clutch hydraulic line is connected to the slave cylinder, it should never be disconnected.

Also, did you verify cylinder rod (slave) is properly seated in the release lever? Also, does the clutch pedal feel normal?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Joe,

I did not remove any components from the sealed system I purchased. The system has a bleeder on the slave. I bled it through the bleeder. I also bled it by pushing the rod in until there were no more bubbles coming up to the reservoir. The rod doe’s line up with the fork. I feel some pressure but not as much as I did when the line first broke before replacing. I’m just trying to get a little more insight into this before I rip it all apart again.

Question. If the fork was bent or the flex plate was faulty. Could this be a cause of the transmission not shifting?

Thanks again. Gabe

Hi:
Absolutely, either of the two things you mentioned can cause it. If the transmission shifts with the engine off but won't with it running, the clutch isn't disengaging.

Do you feel the pressure plate or the clutch fork were damaged?

Let me know.
