When slowing down it jerks in drive, no check engine light on?

I would run the codes anyway to see what comes up and I wanted to ask if the speedometer seems to be working okay? If not, I would replace the VSS (vehicle speed sensor, also you should check the transmission fluid and change it if it has never been done. Also, if no codes are found you may have a partially clogged catalytic converter.
