intermittent issue with the Shifter getting stuck in Park?

Hi,

The shift lock solenoid is powered by the brake lamp switch. When it won't shift, see if the brake lights are working. Do this first.

the brake lights work and my shifter will only move when i press the shift lock with a flat head.
